Originally trained as a traditional sign writer, I spent 8 years working for sign and graphics companies, where I gained valuable experience in the practice of sign-making and – just as importantly – met my husband! Nutmeg started after I designed wall stickers for my children’s bedrooms. Soon after family and friends started asking for wall stickers for their own homes and offices. After that, Nutmeg was born! I believe in the power of books to do great things for our brains, they wake up our imaginations with a little shot of stimulation right when we need it. Books were a huge part in my parenting toolkit and I want them to be part of yours too, so my aim is to revamp every home library and school library with books that inspire and nourish our children whilst reflecting the world we live in. Hi, I’m Emma. I’ve always been creative - I trained as an MUA when I left school, I’ve had many different jobs but always found it hard to settle as a creative! Seeing items or personalised bits online or in the shops, my instant thoughts are always, I can make that! Talking to others and getting to know what makes them intrigues me. Listening to individuals life stories and journeys inspired my own! I started ‘ThesePrintsTho’ when I was pregnant with my 3rd baby - he’s now 1!. I wanted something nice for my daughter’s room but couldn’t find what I wanted. So I discovered canva and got designing. From there my partner and I looked at printers and fine art papers and before we knew it we had invested in ‘Gary’ - one mammoth printer. He was delivered on a crate and took 4 people to carry him! After building my own website, I’ve created collections of keepsakes. And I LOVE it so much! I have met some amazing entrepreneurs already and have some collaborations that have already started - it’s so exciting. I can really feel a shift in my growth since discovering entrepreneurship. Going alone and being self employed is so scary, especially after being employed my whole adult life.
